The end of the deployments of the THD, but also the scheduled extinction of copper, not only raise the question of the future of the industrial sector but also that of the ecosystem of RIP, mixed unions and EPCI. Is the development of smart territories an option? What new professions and what new missions for public, industrial and commercial players in the market? What economic models and what financing? Is the international an answer? Can we create wealth in France by exporting our models and skills? Will exports, maintenance and services be enough to guarantee the sustainability of the sector? France will have made a considerable effort to deploy very high speed broadband throughout its territory with the promise that this investment would be an essential asset in the service of the economic prosperity of our country, its independence and its social cohesion. What about today ? Will this promise be kept? Will the return on investment benefit France, the French people and their businesses? Or that of extraterritorial actors? Isn’t the performance of our networks likely to encourage our dependence on the major hegemonic players on the net? Shouldn’t a new plan be needed to support the development of national services and uses? That of the digitization of companies? Help with the appropriation and mastery of digital tools? How to invest in sovereign services, for the benefit of the French and their economy?

The deployment of 5G is underway as well as the finalization of the 4G network of the territory. Combined with satellite technologies, radio technologies have proven their effectiveness and have, in particular, made it possible to compensate for the delay in certain deployments or access to difficult areas. However, it is clear that much more is expected from 5G than a palliative or supplementary means of connectivity. What feedback on the industrial experiments in progress? What industrial ecosystem is being developed around 5G? With the emergence of new players? New business models? A new distribution of roles and value? What are the consequences for the industrial sovereignty of our country?
